An expat partner, or trailing partner, is the married partner of an expatriate employee transferred or hired to work abroad. Historically, trailing partner have been a largely female population, but this has changed over time as more male expat partner follow their wives abroad.

It all sounded almost too perfect. A fresh start in a new country, with plenty of chances to enjoy, explore, and experience a new and exciting part of the world.
